Nikolas Tarkhoff is one of the most remarkable Russian impressionists, whose name was lost because of emigration in the very beginning of his artistic career.
Now the time has passed, and his name is starting to get more recognisable, especially after the discovery of Russian art of emigration and due to endless interest in impressionism.
We suggest to try to understand Nikolas Tarkhoff's art with the perspective of his contemporary. At the exhibition we have gathered 40 artworks from private collections, many of them were well-known in the beginning of XX century and have a remarkable history — they were selected for the expositions by the artist himself, also were described in articles and reproduced in magazines.
