The 'Our Artists' Gallery would like to introduce another unknown name — Nadezhda Lermontova (1885-1921). This project is her very first personal exposition.
We have gathered about 50 drawings and paintings, 7 of them belong to the Russian Museum, the rest were borrowed from collectors and successors. Lermontova was the student of Leon Bakst, who especially valued her for the sense of colour.
Thriving imagination, an ability to look beyond practical reality, freedom in depiction and vision — all of that defined the unique art-style of Nadezhda Lermontova, where symbolism, modern and expressionism have merged.
